If you aren't then I'm not sure what to say to prepare you for what you are thinking of watching! It's about a businessman, William Cole, who goes to Bulgaria with his estranged wife. They meet a helpful taxi driver and get on the wrong side of a woman from gypsy town. Before you know it, they're all killed by the woman, Tatoya. Luckily a crazy doctor and his crazier assistant have completed an experiment so William Cole can live again. However, things go wrong when he realises that there is someone else in his head as they had to replace the damaged brain tissue with a donors...the taxi driver. The plot may seem hard to keep up with but it's fairly easy to follow. It's well directed in Campbell's feature debut. The dialogue is well suited to the theme: slightly over the top and B-movie-esque. However, it was the performances that really sold it to me. Bruce Campbell is good as Cole and the supporting cast are entertaining. The sand out performance for me had to be Ted Raimi as the assistant, Pavel. He's always very enigmatic and fun to watch and to see him with Bruce is always a pleasure. This is very much an acquired taste and I'm not sure I'd recommend it if you are not familiar with the cast and their previous work but it is a good laugh and a great way to spend 90 minutes.
