Synopsis: True story of the 1919 World Series, in which the Mob paid several members of the Chicago White Sox to throw the series. Desperate for money and in the middle of a labor dispute, a few took the bait and the Sox lost. Two men, Buck Weaver (Cusack) and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson, rejected the bribe and played their hearts out, then spent the rest of their lives trying to clear their names.
