After a date one evening, a photographer, Sophie, and her boyfriend Hugh stop at a convenience store. While Sophie's waits in the car, Hugh is murdered in a robbery inside the store. Racked with guilt, Sophie attempts to get on with her life, but in the middle of a photography class one day, a mysterious slide appears in the overhead projector—it's a photo of Sophie's car outside the convenience store during the fateful night of the robbery/homicide.
